Questions

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that scheduling plans may change, so we are happy to reschedule your appointment in this case. Please provide at least 48 hours notice in the case of cancellation so that we have adequate time to fill that space with a patient on our waiting list. No-shows or less than 2-day notice may result in a $50 fee.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance. Although we are a medical practice, the services we perform are elective in nature and not covered by insurance.

How will I know which services I need?

Each of our services are personalized to you as we understand that no two people are alike. We offer full, in-depth consultations in order to help decide the best treatment plan for you and to ensure your results are aligned with your expectations. You will fill out an assessment form and then a skin analysis will be done to determine the treatment program best suited for your needs.

Will my results look natural?

When performing facial rejuvenation treatments, at Rejuvenation MedSpa, we believe that less is more. When performing any treatment, we focus on creating a look that appears entirely natural and fresh, never overfilled, or overdone.

How often should I have a facial?

Adding a professional facial to your beauty regimen can keep your skin healthy, firm, and glowing, and ward off the development of wrinkles and lines. Cell turnover in the skin occurs about every three to four weeks, and a facial performed at those intervals will keep your skin looking its best.  Usually treatments require a series of 3-4 for best results. Treatments performed over several months can dramatically enhance your skin quality.

Pre & Post Care Guidelines

Chemical Peels

One week prior to treatment please avoid the following services: Electrolysis, Waxing, Depilatory  Creams, Laser Hair Removal and patients who have had BOTOX® injections should wait until full effect of their treatment is seen before receiving a peel.

Two to Three days prior to your peel please avoid using Retin-A®, Renova®, Differin®, or Tazorac®.  Any products containing retinol, alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) or beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), or benzoyl peroxide. Any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating. Patients who have had medical cosmetic facial treatments or procedures (e.g. laser therapy, surgical procedures, cosmetic filler,  microdermabrasion, etc) should wait until skin sensitivity completely resolves before receiving a peel.  Patients should take extra precautions to guard against sun exposure immediately following the procedure, as they may be more sensitive the first 48 hours following treatment. It is crucial to the health of your skin and the success of your peel that these guidelines be followed: It is imperative to use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 (such as Environmental Defense  Sunscreen SPF 30+) and avoid direct sunlight for at least 1 week.

Patients with hypersensitivity to the sun should take extra precautions to guard against exposure immediately following the procedure as they may be more sensitive following the peel. Because of the superficial nature of this peel, patients should not expect to see visible peeling.  Occasionally, some patients may have very minor flaking 3-4 days after the procedure. The skin may appear slightly redder than usual for about 1 – 2 hours after the treatment. If neck and décolletage are treated, the redness might last slightly longer. The skin should look normal the next day.

When washing the face, do not scrub, and do not use a washcloth.

The regular use of Retin-A, alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) products, or bleaching creams can be resumed after 4-5 days after the peeling process is complete.

Wait until flaking or mild peeling completely subsides before having ANY OTHER FACIAL  PROCEDURES including: Facials, Microdermabrasion, Laser treatments (including laser hair removal), Facial hair removal, BOTOX injections, and Injectable fillers.

Microneedling

Patients should take extra precautions to guard against sun exposure immediately following the procedure, as they may be more sensitive the first 48 hours following treatment. It is important to wear SPF 30+ to avoid direct sunlight during the course of treatments and thereafter.

Do not use exfoliants or scrubs for 10-14 days after treatment. No heat exposure (hot tubs, saunas,  steam or excessive exercise) for a minimum of 48 hours after treatment.

Please clean anything that may come in contact with your face (phones, glasses, and masks) with alcohol pads and change your pillowcase often. Your face or treatment area should be kept as clean as possible.

You should keep your skin free of any makeup or additional products not applied post-treatment by your provider for a minimum of 12 hours.

Patient side effects may include: redness, swelling, burning, and skin sensitivity. This could last 1-3  days.

Swelling is expected immediately post-treatment and generally resolves within 24 hours, but can persist longer.

Facial Services

Patients will not need to do much prior to their facial service. Makeup is okay to wear to the appointment as a facial will provide a deep cleanse of the skin!

After your facial treatment avoid picking at your skin. It can be very normal to get a small breakout,  pustule, or bump under the skin. As we cleanse and work on your skin during a facial it can bring debris up to the surface. We do our best to leave your skin in great condition after a facial, but it is normal for your skin to continue to cleanse itself after the facial treatment.

Any redness and breakouts should subside within 24-48 hours.

Makeup is ok to apply after your facial service. Try and avoid any heavy makeup if possible to allow your skin to breathe and unwind!

Your face is fully cleansed after a facial service and we finish with wonderful finishing products. No need to re-cleanse after your facial service.

If you are using facials as a treatment, it is recommended to receive facials in a series of 4-6 sessions.

Botox

After receiving a Botox/Dysport treatment please follow the below post-care instructions to maximize your results.

Avoid hats, visors, headbands, or laying flat for 4 hours after injections.

Do not participate in activities that include heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, or straining for 2-3 hours.

Do not rub, touch or manipulate Botox for 3 hours.

Avoid irritating products for 24 hours following treatment.

Makeup may be applied gently before leaving the office, but remember to wipe away from your eye. It takes a full 14 days for Botox to take full effect. Don’t love it or hate it until the two-week mark.  The most common side effects of Botox injections include headaches, nausea, redness, and slight pain to the injection site. Infrequently, patients may experience muscle weakness, or drooping for the upper eyelid.

Re-treatment is recommended between 3-5 months (no more than every 3 months). If your upper lip has been treated you will most likely not be able to drink from a straw, whistle, or enunciate some words for approximately 2 weeks.

Laser Hair Removal

LHR Pre-Treatment Instructions

The area to be treated must be clean-shaven. Patients who arrive unshaven will be rescheduled.  Please shave the entire area you desire treated within 24 hours of your scheduled treatment. Patients must stop waxing, tweezing and chemical epilation 3 weeks prior to treatment. Avoid UV exposure 7 days prior to your treatment.

Patients who are sunburned must wait 2 weeks before being treated to avoid additional skin damage. Patients must come to appointments with clean skin in the area to be treated. All patients who are treating any part of their face or neck will be required to cleanse their entire face. Avoid chemical peels and other laser procedures in the area to be treated for 2 weeks prior to and two weeks after your laser treatment.

Avoid all alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxyl products (AHA/BHA), hydroquinone,  retinol/retinoid, Tazorac, and Differin for 7 days before treatment.

Patients with any abnormal lesions, moles, or spots on the area to be treated must be cleared by a  medical practitioner prior to treatment.

If you are prone to cold sores, it is highly recommended to take an anti-viral medication (such as  Valtrex) prior to your treatment. Patients with active cold sores will not be treated. Patients who have used Accutane or similar products within the last 6 months, CAN NOT have laser hair removal treatments.

Patients should not perform any physical activity that increases body temperature or blood pressure within 2 hours before and after treatments.

Antibiotics may increase photosensitivity. We recommend that you check with your physician prior to receiving laser treatments if you are taking a long-term antibiotic. If you become ill and begin taking an antibiotic, you must be off the medication for 7 days before laser treatment. Boots may not be worn immediately after leg treatments.

Use a broad spectrum SPF 30 (or greater) sunblock before AND after your treatments. Please try to avoid natural tanning anytime within 2-3 weeks before your session.

LHR Post-Treatment Instructions

Avoid extended UV exposure for 7 days post-treatment.

If blisters occur, do not puncture. If the skin is broken, apply an antibiotic ointment until healed. If crusting or blistering develops, apply Vaseline or ointment twice daily to keep the area moist until healed, and contact our office if the area shows signs of worsening condition. Do not rub or pick at the treated area. Do not use any loofahs or abrasive scrubs for at least 3 days or until any redness and sensitivity subsides.

Over-the-counter medication is recommended for post-treatment discomfort. You may also apply cool towels, ice packs, or aloe vera to alleviate discomfort.

Immediately after your treatment, there may be some slight redness, swelling around the hair follicles and mild discomfort similar to a sunburn. You may use aloe gel or cool packs may be applied. Avoid any additional laser treatments or chemical procedures on the treated area for at least 2 weeks post-treatment or until healing has occurred.

Using a broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 or higher is critical when receiving laser treatments and is recommended ongoing maintenance.

If you experience any side effects, such as hypo- or hyper-pigmentation, prolonged redness or swelling, a histamine reaction, or blistering, call us immediately or come in for instructions on treatment.

To achieve the best results, complete the full treatment schedule at the intervals recommended.  Schedule appointments 4-6 weeks apart & expect, on average, the best results after 8 sessions.

Exfoliate treated areas to minimize the risk of ingrown hairs.

You may also notice during and immediately after your session the smell of burned hair. This is normal and will subside with cleansing.

Avoid strenuous sports activities or hot water, saunas, and jacuzzi for up to 24 hours after treatment to minimize irritation and prolonged redness.

Your satisfaction is important to us! We would like you to return to the clinic in 4-6 weeks for a follow-up assessment and appointment, especially after your first treatment. Consistency is very important  for optimal results with laser hair reduction.
